Through my journey to switching to safer products for my family, I found myself becoming a resource to my friends on effective, safe products. I tried many safer brands of skin care and never really seemed to land on anything that I would buy again. A friend asked if I had ever heard of Beautycounter and got me some samples from her friend that was a consultant. A few days later, I received some little samples and upon my first use of some day and night cream, I knew these products were blowing everything else I had previously used out of the water. They felt luxurious and weren’t greasy. I noticed a difference in my skin within a few days of just using the samples. I was hooked… as a customer.

I continued to try many other safer beauty brands for different products, as it had kind of become a hobby at this point. Again, I rarely came across products I wanted to repurchase. Beautycounter’s products were so much more high-performing and super concentrated so a little bit went a long way and I wasn’t having to repurchase frequently. So I kept filling my bathroom with Beautycounter. Almost 3 years later my neighbor invited me to her Beautycounter launch social and was thrilled to learn I was already a customer! Long story short, I joined forces with her as a consultant and we both agree that joining Beautycounter’s mission was the best decision we’ve made in a long time.

Now I will be completely honest, I spent a few days trying to talk myself out of joining a direct sales company. I mean I had made fun of “those people” before this. But the more I dug into what Beautycounter stands for as a company the more I realized I couldn’t not lend my voice to this movement. Beautycounter is SO much more than a direct sales company. Their consultants are lending their voice to a movement to get safer products into the hands of everyone. They have the opportunity to build a business while directly impacting the health of their loved ones, community and the world. Beautycounter leads with education and advocacy. Selling their products, which are a high-performing, safer solution to a problem, is secondary and a means to drive the mission. How many other companies do you know demand more regulation in the industry they serve? How many companies are advocating for more health protective laws?
